Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University Admission Test (SAAT) 2012

Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University Admission Test (SAAT) - a National Level Entrance Test will be conducted by Siksha 'O' Anusandhan - Deemed to be University every year for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programs of the University. The test is being conducted for different programs offered in different constituent institutes of the University. SAAT-2012, the fifth edition of this entrance test and will be held on 12th May 2012 (Saturday) at 60 centers across 42 cities of India. The Test is primarily a objective multiple choice type test and is at par with the standard of the test of other national level entrance tests. The University abides by the Government policies on reservation for admission of women, physical disabled and SC/ST candidates. Short listed candidates are required to attend an open counselling for admission into various programmes of the University. Also, candidates with diploma in engineering/ technology/ pharmacy and hotel management are eligible for admission into regular courses under lateral entry scheme through SAAT-2012..

LATERAL ENTRY PROGRAMMES :
Under Lateral Entry (LE) scheme 20% of intake capacity of previous year in appropriate discipline and carry forward vacant seats of 1st year of Engineering / Pharmacy / Hotel Management / B.Sc. Nursing will be filled up at the 2nd year level. These seats will be over and above the intake capacity. (Refer - Appendix-XVI)
a) Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in different branches at ITER.
b) Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) at SPS.
c) Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) at SHM.
d) Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Post Basic B. Sc. Nursing) at SNC.


Eligibility Criteria - Bachelor Degree Programme

For Bachelor Degree Programmes :

a) B.Tech.
Pass or appearing (in the year 2012) at 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects alongwith one of the following subjects : Chemistry / Computer Science / Information Technology /Biotechnology / Biology / Informatics / Statistics, by securing atleast 45% marks taken together in the subject mentioned (40% incase of candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC category)
OR
Pass in Diploma programme in Engineering / Technology with less than 60% marks in aggregate.

b) MBBS and BDS 
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (in the year 2012) or any equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology) and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination. In respect of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes,


Schedules Tribes and Other Backward Classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination can be 40% instead of 50% for General Candidates. For PH candidates qualifying examination marks is 45% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together. As per MCI & DCI guidelines candidates have to secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) taken together in the entrance test. For SC / ST / OBC candidates the limit is minimum of 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) taken together in the entrance test. For PH candidates the limit is minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) taken together in the entrance test. All candidates must pass in English.

Age Limit: The lower age limit is 17 year and the upper age limit is 25 year as on 31.12.2012. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates belonging to SC and ST category only.

c) B. Pharm
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (in the year 2012) with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Mathematics / Biotechnology / Computer Science / Biology / Information Technology, by securing atleast 45% marks taken together in the subject mentioned (40% incase of candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC category) 
OR
Pass in Diploma programme in Pharmacy with less than 60% marks.

d) BHMCT
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (2012 ) in any discipline with atleast 45% marks (40% incase of SC / ST / OBC category)

e) B.Sc. in Nursing (Basic)
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (in the year 2012) with at least 45% marks in aggregate (English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together) and 40% marks in aggregate for SC / ST / OBC candidates only.

Age Limit : The lower age limit is 17 years as on 31.12.2012.

f) B.Sc. in Nursing (Post Basic)
Passed GNM examination, and registered with concerned State Nursing Council. Candidate must be a member of TNAI.

g) Five years integrated BBA LLB Honours Programme 
Passed the 10+2 or equivalent in any stream with atleast 45% marks. Relaxable to 40% in case of SC/ ST. Candidate should not have completed 21 years of age as on 1st August 2012.
Eligibility Criteria - Master Degree Programme

For Master Degree Programmes :

a) M.Tech. 
Pass or appearing at B.E. / B.Tech / AMIE /MCA/M.Sc. in the respective discipline or equivalent. For M.Tech. in Biotechnology, candidates having B.Tech./B.E. in Biotechnology or related fields / M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Life Science or equivalent / MBBS / B.Pharm./B.V.Sc. with Biology as a subject at +2 level are eligible. Candidates having MCA degree are eligible for M.Tech in Comp. Sc. & Engg., Comp. Sc. & Data Processing, and those with M.Sc. (Maths.) degree are eligible for M.Tech in Comp. Sc.& Data Processing. Candidates with M.Sc. (Electronics) are eligible for M.Tech. in Electronics& Communication Engineering and M.Tech. in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering. M.Sc. in Computer Science and IT are eligible for M.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering and CS & IT respectively. A candidate with B.Tech. (Environmental / Chemical / Civil / Mechanical / Metallurgy) or M.Sc. (Environmental Science / Chemistry / Biotechnology / Geology / Life Science / Botany / Zoology) is eligible
for M.Tech. in Environmental Science & Technology. For M.Tech. Material Science & Technology candidate must have M.Sc. (Physics) / M.Sc. (Chemistry) / B.Tech. (Electronics & Communication Engg.) / B.Tech (Electrical Engg.) For admission to M.Tech, candidates have to pass the qualifying examination with atleast 50% marks.

GATE qualified candidates are exempted from the entrance test, but they have to submit the filled up form. Admission into M.Tech. programmes will be done on the basis of performance in SAAT-2012 or GATE- 2012 and personal interview taken together. After the interview, the final merit list will be prepared.

b) MCA
Pass or appearing (in the year 2012) at three year Bachelor Degree in any discipline from any recognised University with atleast 45% of marks (40% incase of candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC Category) having Mathematics at 10+2 level or at +3 level Candidates having Business mathematics at +2 or +3 level are not eligible.

c) MBA/ MHMCT/ MHA
Pass or appearing (in the year 2012) three year Bachelor Degree in Science, Commerce and Arts/ B.E./B.Tech./MBBS/BHMS/BAMS/BDS/BPT/BHMCT/ BBA/BCA examination or equivalent in 2011 from any recognised University with atleast 45% marks (40% incase of candidate belonging to SC / ST / OBC category) 

Candidate having a minimum composite score of 500 in MAT or any other equivalent test are exempted from appearing SAAT-2012. They are required only to submit the filled up application form. Admission will be done on the basis of performance in SAAT-2012 or MAT followed by group discussion and personal interview (GD/PI), all taken together.

d) M.Pharm.
Pass or appearing (in the year 2012) at B.Pharm examination from any recognized University with atleast 50% marks. The candidate having valid GPAT score can apply.

GPAT qualified candidates are exempted from the entrance test, but they have to submit the filled up form. Admission into M.Pharm programme will be done on the basis of performance in SAAT-2012 or GPAT-2012 and personal interview taken together. After the interview, the final merit list will be prepared.

e) M.Sc. in Biotechnology
Pass or appearing (in the year 2012) at three year Bachelor degree in Science OR four year Bachelor course in Agriculture / Pharmacy / Veterinary / Engineering / Technology / Medicine (MBBS/BDS) from any recongnised University with atleast 45% marks (40% incase of candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC category).

f) M.Sc. in Nursing
Passed B.Sc. Nursing (Basic/Post Basic)Degree with 55% aggregate from a Institution recognized by Indian Nursing Council with a minimum of one year experience either in teaching or clinical area but they should be registered in State Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife.

g) LLM :
Pass or appearing in Bachelor Degree in Law or studied Integrated Law Course or equivalent thereof, from any recognized University, securing 50% Marks in aggregate.
Eligibility Criteria - Lateral Entry Programme

For Lateral Entry Programmes :

a) Admission to 2nd year Degree Programme in Engineering, Pharmacy & Hotel Management for Diploma holders : Pass or appearing (in the year 2012) at three year diploma course in Engineering / Pharmacy and Hotel Management respectively with at least 60% marks in aggregate from State Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training (SCTE&VT), Odisha or equivalent. For Pharmacy, pass or appearing (in the year 2012) at two year diploma course in Pharmacy with minimum 60% marks in aggregate from Orissa State Board of Pharmacy (OSBP) or SCTE&VT, Odisha, or equivalent.

Availability of Application Form

a) Application Form & Information Brochure of SAAT–2012 can be obtained in Person / by Post from the SOA University, Khandagiri Square, Bhubaneswar - 751030. Forms are also available at different counters of the constituent institutes of the university.

b) Application form & information brochure of SAAT–2012 can also be obtained from designated branches of Axis Bank, Syndicate Bank and Punjab National Bank (enlisted in Appendix-XVII).

c) Application form & information brochure of SAAT-2012 is available at www.soauniversity.ac.in. The candidate can take print out of application form , fill it up neatly and send it by Post/courier alongwith a Demand Draft of a 750/- drawn in favour of SIKSHA O ANUSANDHAN UNIVERSITY, Bhubaneswar, Payable at Bhubaneswar.

d) Cost of one set of application form & information brochure is a 750/- (in person by cash) and a 800/- by post in the form of a demand draft drawn in favour of SIKSHA O ANUSANDHAN UNIVERSITY, Bhubaneswar, Payable at Bhubaneswar.

MHT-CET 2012 (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test) is conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, and Director, Medical Education and Research, Mumbai, Government of Maharashtra, for admission in all Health sciences, Pharmacy, Technology and Engineering programs offered at undergraduate level in government/government aided and few unaided private colleges across the state of Maharashtra.

MHT-CET 2012 Conducting Body
The Government of Maharashtra conducts Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET 2012).
MHT-CET 2012 Eligibility
  1. The candidate should be a citizen of India.
  2. The candidate should have attained the minimum age of 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission. In order to seek admission in Ayurveda and Unani courses, the candidate should have attained the minimum age of 17 Years as on 1st October of the Year of admission.The upper age limit for the candidates is fixed as 25 Years as on 31st December of the Year of admission. However, relaxation of five years is there for SC/ST candidates.
  3. The candidate can attempt MHT-CET 2012 for three times only.
  4. The candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in science stream (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics) from an institution situated in the state of Maharashtra. For engineering program, the candidates should have studied Mathematics as a subject of study at 10+2 level.
  5. For admission into MBBS, BAMS, BDS, and BSc. Nursing, the candidates are required to obtain minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English put together at HSC (or equivalent) examination. Exemption of 10% is there for SC/ST candidates.
  6. For admission into MBBS, BDS Courses, the candidates should have secured minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology put together at Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET 2012).
  7. For BUMS program, the candidates are required to pass senior secondary examination with Urdu as a subject of study.
  8. The candidates, who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination outside Maharashtra, are eligible, provided they fulfill the Domicile criteria.

There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
Important Notes
  • The candidates, who aspire to study Health Science and BVSc, AH courses, should appear in Paper I and Paper II.
  • The applicants desirous of selection to engineering degree courses needs to appear in Paper I and Paper III
  • Candidates, who desire to seek admission in Pharmacy degree course should appear in Paper I, Paper-II and/or Paper-III.
  • Each paper of entrance examination comprises maximum of 100 marks. Further, each section (Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology) of a paper consists of 50 marks. All the questions are of objective type with multiple options to be answered in an OMR answer sheet. More than one answer indicated against a question will be considered as wrong. However, there is no negative marking for wrong answers.
MHT-CET 2012 Fees Details
The cost of the Application Form along with the three information brochures of MHT-CET 2012 and Examination fee is Rs.700/- for open category and all Outside Maharashtra candidates and Rs 500/ for reserve category candidates (belonging to Maharashtra State Only). This amount is not refundable. The candidates from Outside Maharashtra (OMS) can purchase application form and Information brochure(s) of MHT-CET 2012 from any Divisional Authority office as mentioned in Annexure-A by submitting Demand Draft of Rs. 700/- drawn in favour of “Competent Authority, MH-CET, Mumbai” payable at Mumbai, drawn on any Scheduled Commercial Bank.
MHT-CET 2012 Extra Information
Online Form Proccedure
The Online Application Form is being made available to only those eligible candidates, who are desirous of seeking admission to the colleges through centralised Admission Process on the official website www.dte.org.in. Aspiring candidates are required to fill in the Online Application Form, take the printout of the Online Application Form and Confirm the Online application form in person along with duly signed printout of the Online Application form, required documents (both originals and attested copies) at the Application Form Receipt Center (ARC) listed as per schedule. The merit list of eligible candidates for Centralized Admission Process (CAP) will be displayed on website. Applications of Maharashtra State, OMS and AIEEE candidates received by post at ARC/DTE office will be rejected and no communication will be done with the candidate.
Important Note:
  • It is MANDATORY for all eligible aspiring Maharashtra State, AIEEE(Paper-1) qualified and J&K Migrant candidates to submit and confirm Online application form for Engineering/Technology.
  • AIEEE and J& K Migrant candidates should draw D.D./ Pay Order of specified amount on any Scheduled/Nationalised/Commercial Bank in favour of The Director, Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Payable at Mumbai.
  • AIEEE (Paper-1) qualified candidates applying for Engineering/Technology Courses: Such candidates should confirm the application form at ARC, along with a DD/Pay order of Rs. 700/- (Rs.500/- in case of candidates of Backward class categories belonging only to Maharashtra State).
  • Maharashtra State candidates aspiring for admission against AIEEE seats, if they are AIEEE-(Paper-1) qualified, should apply for All India Seats (AIEEE) through the same application form along with DD.
  • J & K Migrant Candidates applying for Engineering/Technology courses: Such candidates should send print out of duly filled in and signed online application form and attested copies of required documents for confirmation along with a DD/Pay order of Rs. 700/- to: The Principal, Sardar Patel
    College of Engineering, Versova Road, Munshi Nagar, Andheri (West), Mumbai-400 058.
  • If the candidate fails to confirm the online filled application form at ARC, then such online filled application will be rejected and name of such candidate will not appear in the merit list(s) prepared for the purpose of CAP. Such candidates whose names do not appear in the merit list(s) will not be able to participate in entire Centralized Admission Process.
MHT-CET 2012 Syllabus
Syllabus of the exams will be the same as for the current year for HSC examination of HSC Boards of Maharashtra. The medium for examination shall be English or Marathi or Urdu for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. However, Mathematics paper shall be in English only.

BHU PMT 2012 | BHU PMT Screening 2012 |

The Banaras Hindu University will hold All India COMPETITIVE WRITTEN TEST for admission to MBBS course (84 seats) in TWO stages: PMT-2012 SCREENING and PMT-2012 MAIN, and for BDS (38 seats), BAMS* (50 seats) and BPharm. (33 seats) courses in ONE stage: PMT-2012 Screening. PMT-2012 SCREENING shall be held on Wednesday, the 16th May 2012 at Varanasi, Delhi, Kolkata, and Hyderabad Centres to screen candidates for eligibility to appear in PMT-2012 MAIN examination for MBBS course which will be held on Sunday, the 17th June 2012 at Varanasi Centre only. For BDS/BAMS*/B.Pharm courses, candidates will be selected on the basis of their merit in the PMT-2012 SCREENING only.

*Number of seats in BAMS course may increase subject to approval by the Central Council of Indian Medicine.



Eligibility for BHU PMT 2012 Screening
Passed Intermediate / 10+2 or equivalent examination in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology + Botany) taken together; (I) For MBBS/BDS/BAMS – a minimum of 50% marks for General and 45% for General-PC candidates and 40% marks for OBC#/SC/ST and respective PC candidates; (ii) For B.Pharm. – a minimum of 60% marks for General / OBC and respective PC candidates and 55% marks for SC/ST and respective PC candidates. Candidates appearing in qualifying examination may also apply.

DISTRIBUTION OF SEATS: M.B.B.S. (84 seats): General - 42; OBC# – 23; SC – 13 and ST – 6; BDS (38 seats): General – 19; OBC# – 10; SC – 6 and ST – 3; BAMS (50 seats): General – 25; OBC# – 13; SC – 8 and ST – 4; B.Pharm. (33 seats): General – 17; OBC# – 9; SC – 5 and ST – 2. Three percent seats are reserved for Physically Challenged (PC) candidates on horizontal basis in the above courses. #Non-Creamy layer OBC only.

AGE: Completed 17 years but not crossed 25 years as on 31st December, 2012 (Candidates born after 1st January, 1996 and on or before 31st December, 1987 need not apply).
Sale of Application Form: 09.01.2012 to 05.03.2012* from the designated branches of Bank of Baroda as mentioned below: Application Form can be obtained from Bank of Baroda, BHU Branch, S.S. Hospital, Varanasi up to 12.03.2012.

(B) BY POST: From the Office of the Director (PMT-Cell), Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221 005 by sending a written request through Registered Post along with Crossed Demand Draft/Bankers Cheque (MICR only) of Rs. 1600/- for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 1100 for SC/ST candidates of a Nationalized Bank, drawn in favour of “The Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU” payable at Varanasi. Application form will be sent by Speed / Registered Post. However, Institute will not be responsible for any loss or postal delay. The request for application form must include the name and address of the candidate, and full particulars of the enclosed DD/BC (write candidate’s name and address on the back of DD). Two self-addressed, preferably typed, white paper slips of 10 cm ´ 6 cm size must also accompany it. The requisition for PMT Application Form should be superscribed “Request for Application Form for PMT-2012, BHU”. Last date of requisition for PMT form by post is 27.02.2012. Incomplete/non-cashable Draft (under amount/unsigned/ without Bank Code No. & Seal) shall not be accepted.
NOTE: (a) M.O./I.P.O./Cheques shall NOT be accepted under any circumstances. Application Forms from the Office of the Director (PMT-Cell), Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, and Varanasi-221005 can be obtained by POST only and not in person up to 27.02.2012.

Last Date for Submission of Completed Application Form: Application form duly completed must be sent through Registered Post so as to reach THE DIRECTOR (PMT CELL), INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES, BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY, VARANASI-221 005 latest by 15.03.2012. Application forms received after the last date shall not be accepted. Foreign Nationals are not required to appear in the PMT examination for MBBS/BDS/BAMS courses. They may seek admission through the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, New Delhi, as per the rules laid down for the purpose and their nomination must reach by 15.07.2012.
PMT-2012 SCREENING shall be held on Wednesday, the 16th May 2012 at Varanasi, Delhi, Kolkata, and Hyderabad Centres to screen candidates for eligibility to appear in PMT-2012 MAIN examination for MBBS course which will be held on Sunday, the 17th June 2012 at Varanasi Centre only.

Goa Common Entrance Test For admission to the first year of professional degree courses session 2012-13

Courses under GCET 2012 are Medicine (MBBS), Dentistry (BDS), Engineering (B.E.), Pharmacy (B.Pharm Sc), Architecture (B.Arch), Homoeopathy (BHMS)

GCET-2012 (Goa Common Entrance Test) in the state of Goa shall be conducted on 09th-10th May, 2012, Wednesday/Thursday as per the following schedule at 10 centres in Goa
·         Physics: 09th May, 2012, 10.00 a.m. to 12 noon
·         Chemistry: 09th May, 2012, 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.
·         Mathematics: 10th May, 2012, 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon
·         Biology/Computer Science: 10th May, 2012, 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.
Question paper shall be of objective, multiple-choice type containing 75 questions of 1 mark each with no negative marking

B) G2CET-2012(Common Entrance Test for Direct 2nd Year)
a) G2CET-2012(for Diploma and B. Sc. Degree holders) for direct admissions to Second Year of Degree courses in Engineering and Pharmacy shall be conducted on Friday, 11th May, 2012, at Panaji and Margao Centres from 10.00 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. There shall be a single paper comprising of 100 objective, multiple choice type questions, carrying 1 mark each, with no negative marking.

Separate Prospectuses containing complete details of GCET and G2CET, with application forms shall be made available for reference in February, 2012 on the website www.dtegoa.gov.in and print version in March 2012. Specific dates and locations of availability will be duly notified.

Eligibility
·        Indian National  Between 17-25 yrs of age as on 31-12-2011

·         Pass in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology,Bio-technology at the qualifying examination.
